Fun and Learning
Our aim is to help the children scout the world around us. Our Forest Fridays and similar outdoors activities really help our pre-school excel
in this area. We like our children to develop their independent thinking skills. We have sessions geared around this objective, enhancing and tapping into their natural creativity. We listen to the children and encourage them to “have-a-look” and explore.
Our organised play sessions are always fun and we place high importance on friendship and respect.
Everyone is included. We champion individuality and have a focus on the girls and boys building high self esteem. We focus on developing a broad range of skill sets from physical skills, both motor and dexterity, creative stimulating activities enabling them to show their personality, language and communication and intellectual articulation of their ideas and so forth.
We have strong roots in the village community and are proud of our fantastic venue. And we look forward to seeing you there soon.
Knowledge and the Right Start
We believe it is important for children to have the right start in life. We work towards exercises and activities that build children’s knowledge and give them the best possible start in schooling. …
Check Out What We’ve Been Up To
Here at Little Acorns we like to think that we add to the life and well being of our local community. We aim to offer young children the opportunity to make friends and become independent, ready for their big step into school.
In order to achieve this we provide a safe and stimulating environment and a happy, friendly and caring atmosphere. We have a specially tailored curriculum leading to fantastic results.
To help your child to settle in we would like to welcome you and your child to our friendly Little Acorns Pre-School group. Come and meet the team. Have a look around. We think that you will be pleasantly surprised by our approach and dedication to our goals. There are times when you and your family can be directly involved in the activities of the group.
Transition to Shool
We are passionate about enjoying, achieving and learning. Our core beliefs center on our ambition for building independent learner skills in every girl and boy. While our expectations are high, we hope all our children have the support they need to thrive in our stimulating and motivating learning environment.
Our activities are planned such that the children build their social skills. Also their intellectual capabilities are exercised through play. We want every child to have as smooth a transition into schooling as possible. We work on boosting their resilience. We give them confidence in their capabilities. And we focus on their emotional development.
It is our belief that our curriculum gives your children the very smoothest transition through to school. We want to provide the best foundation for the children to progress and learn as their journey continues at school.
Settling In
Different children all settle into Pre School in various ways. Some children will immediately start taking part in activities, while other children may need help to develop their confidence and start building friendships and trust with the other children and the fantastic empathetic workers we have here.
For some children there is a degree of anxiety associated with being away from their parent for extended periods of time. This can also be upsetting and difficult for the parent during these early stages. We understand these difficulties, but through our excellent team and the wealth of experience we have accumulated, we are expertly placed to be able to guide you and your children through this transition with the greatest of ease.

Remembering Our Fallen Soldiers
This week at Little Acorns we have been making poppies. We have talked about why the poppies are important and that they help us to think about the soldiers that have helped to keep us safe.
The children planted their own flowers to make a poppy garden outside the village hall.
Well done to all the staff and children ?
